Last night I had a dream that I was in Wal-Mart, only it was a HUGE Wal-Mart, like that size of Ikea. And I kept getting stuck inside. It was like a giant maze and as soon as I was almost out of it, I would get thrown back in again. It was horrible. I started to get really stressed out that I couldn’t get out of it. And I was continually being shoved into this huge freight elevator with all these other customers and the door would SLAM down, then I’d be thrown back to the beginning again.

Then, when I finally got out of the damn store, I got stuck in the parking lot! Every time I was nearly out of the parking lot I’d get thrown back in again. Eventually I ended up driving my compact car, off-road, through a wooded area. When the road got too narrow and difficult to maneuver my car, I got out, tied a large rope around it and carried my freaking car over my shoulder, uphill, through trees.

For once, I was excited to get the hell out of bed and into the shower. MEH.

Sounds pretty close to real life, methinks. Wal-mart shopping experiences make me want to hit myself in the head with a shovel until my brains fall out my ear.

  • zymase

Sounds like you might need a softer mattress.

    Sra,
    ha ha!

    Zymase,
Very funny. Perhaps you would like to move our mattresses again?

Wow, that sounds awful. I watched TWO documentaries about Walmart last weekend. Their business practices totally blow. Boo Walmart. Stop invading Pant’s dreams!

If you’re interested, you can watch one of them online here for free. I love Frontline. Yay InternetS!

    Sprizee,
I will have to check out that documentary…thanks for the link!!

I think it’s because of the ex-roommate’s room. *I’m* still having nightmares about that room!

Yowch! That is a real nightmare, sounds like the eighty-first level of Hell. You know, the one reserved for fornicators who make fun of the true church and have had their face eaten by a bear. ;)

  • alexis

wowzers! no more walmart for you for a while.

  • Jen

Dude. I feel ya. Stress dreams suck schweaty balls.

  • Katy

That sounds exhausting! I would totally just leave my car in the woods rather than drag it with a rope! I wonder what a dream analyst would say about this one?

  • The Grunt

I have similar dreams but they take place at McDonald’s (my high school job).

Are you finding a bit of peace in all your business? Sounds like your brain is trying to cope with the daily grind you are putting yourself through.

    Om.

Wow. Trapped in a Walmart, unable to leave? That definitely sounds like a nightmare to me. (It it were Target, however, I might need to rethink that.)

Also, my, you are STRONG in your dreams! :-)

  • Burreetoe

I wish I knew how to interpret dreams. All I get from that is that Wal-Mart is hell. But that is actually true.

Thanks! I’m fine. . . Just getting my shit together.

Shudder! …that is a TRUE nightmare. …being stuck in Walmart with no means of escape!

I sense many levels of meaning in your dream. However, I am most impressed that you’re able to carry your car — even in a dream. I can barely park mine — even in real life.

    love and kisses,
    matty

I’m glad Sprizee included a link to Frontline. They do great stuff on that PBS show. I have to say this though, when I watch Frontline, I feel like I’ve been violated. Rarely do I come away from Frontline feeling like people are good and life is just swell and dandy.

There are no Wal-Marts in Seattle… sort of.

  • Michelle

Sounds like trying to leave the Mormon church! Whew, what a nightmare.

  • Aaron

    Walmart is the devil.

  • Curly Glamour Girlie

Yikes. Could your subconscious be trying to tell you something?

As for WalMart….when you’ve got a small infant, and you’re the only breadwinner and your spouse is a full-time student…they’re not so bad.
