You can’t buy booze at grocery stores in Utah but you can buy enough fireworks to blow your head off if it’s near the 4th of July or Pioneer Day.

You can’t buy booze at Washington State grocery stores either. You have to go to the State run liquor stuff for the good stuff. But we don’t have fireworks next to the potato chips either.

They really should think about letting booze be sold DURING the 4th of July season. That way the really big firework freaks will get drunk and THEN blow their heads off. Just a thought about how to solve the over-population problem.

    sprizze,
The bonus about having to buy booze at a state owned liquor store in Washington State is that you’re in Washington State! :-)

    Meggypoo,
    Good thinking!

Washington state represent! When are the powers that be finally going to ban fireworks forever? How many innocent peoples houses have to burn down before fireworks are banned? I’m just saying. Every year it happens.

    Oh sweet irony!

Is that a JUG of Black Cats, or some sort of hat? Here in Ohio, where we get positively giddy over a run to Indiana for the “good stuff,” the idea of an entire JUG of Black Cats, bursting with both potential energy and potential future nicknames like “Lefty” and “Stubbs,” is almost too much to imagine. Y’all can’t have beer, but a tiny barrel full of low-grade explosives? Sure!

And it should be noted that fireworks should never be banned, as they provide valuable cover noises for my elaborately choreographed looting operation during the 4th. But perhaps I’ve said too much…

I don’t think fireworks are legal in California, except maybe on the reservations. And the professional displays that I can hear every night during baseball season.

    egan,
It seems a lot more people will have to lose their homes before fireworks are banned.

    sizzlesays,
    Utah is full of that!

    labarceloneta,
It sure is a jug of Black Cats! I couldn’t believe the massive amounts of fireworks that were available in the grocery store. We don’t even have to go to some sketchy county like we did in California.

    J.,
I think fireworks are legal in some counties in California…some of my friends who lived inland were able to buy fireworks where they lived. Not that it stops anyone from letting them off.

Utah is so back woods messed up!!!

    Hells yeah, it is!

Ain’t it the truth…sigh…my moron neighbors (no, I don’t mean Mormon) can light the fricking neighborhood on fire with the illegal fireworks they got in Wyoming but I can’t go buy a damn glass of wine at the store to throw on it and put it out when they start the next one.

    GRRRR.

You can have fireworks in Idaho, but you don’t see the massive displays in the grocery stores. AND THEY HAVE WINE.

    booze+fireworks=good times for me

If you go to Evanston Wyoming you can get illegal fireworks, hardcore porn, and malt liquor at the same store. The best part is that it is only a little over an hour away. I think that is the whole reason that town exists–to supply Utahns with their vices–that and Wendover.

I like that there’s no booze, but there’s a firework that looks like a jug of moonshine.

Utah clearly has their priorities straight.
