Friday I’m in Love

June 20th, 2008 · No Comments

This week I have been loving…

D.I.! Though really, I love D.I. every week. What’s not to love when you find treasures like this…

$3 baby doll stroller for my niece, who walked in circles around the kitchen island for FOUR HOURS! Screaming, “Ah byyye!” Every time she’d pass, flirt with her reflection in the sliding glass door, then start it all again. As my brother-in-law called it: a solid purchase.

$2 Sexual Fitness stretching for couples book. I picked this up for my friend, who will be giving it to his brother, that is saving his flower. I think it’s hilarious. Hopefully it won’t take too much therapy to get over it…

The only thing I can say about this homemade, church related puzzle (besides let you know that I didn’t buy it) is that these little fuckers added to my personal therapeutic history. Thanks J.S.

Can you say seventy-five cent BRAND NEW Hello Kitty tote? Jack Jack can, I had to pry it away from him after this modeling session so he wouldn’t destroy it before my honorary niece opens it on her birthday.

Painting the niece’s fingernails and toes with hot pink. She made JAZZ HANDS! the rest of the evening.

Rock hard nectarines. I like them crunchy like apples and they’re bangin’ this week.

True happiness is a cold room on a hot summer day. One thermostat for a two story house, set at seventy-nine degrees, makes for this downstairs. Say hello to heaven.

Still can’t get enough of The Ditty Bops. This week’s obsession is Bye Bye Love.

What are you loving this week?

I’m loving the farmer’s market. Hello to my favorite Saturday activity!

What is D.I.? I keep trying to teach Luke jazz hands to no avail.

    I’m lovin’ ummm….I’m lovin’…..my boy. That’s about it this week. It’s been a toughie.

I was at the D.I. today and bought a power cord for a computer for a buck. I chose the wrong cashier line. A lady had about fifty Mason jars and wanted the lady to wrap each one in newspaper for her. I was also looking at some huge Magnavox hi-fi console, with plastic “wood” criss-cross grills for the speakers. It had a turntable and eight-track. I was thinking that if I could have scored a white leisure suit that it would have been a match made in heaven.

Sue and I hit Savers. She got loads of fabric and I got a brown plastic photo collage frame, shaped like a tree, with the word “Family” in bright gold plastic at the bottom. Still haven’t decided whether I should put my family in it, or my new family, or a combination, or just leave the pretty late 70s family that the factory put there. Or maybe I should just go back and get a couple more.

I can’t believe I never go to the D.I. (except to drop crap off), and it’s only 2 minutes from my house. The book is classic, and I think it would have made a perfect wedding gift.

You know what I liked about this week? Mostly that it’s over :)

    Sra,
I haven’t been to a farmer’s market in Utah yet, will have to check it out!

    Tiffany,
D.I. is the Mormon version of Goodwill. :-)

    The Grunt,
The poor cashier was SO embarrassed when I bought the Sexual Fitness book. I think he might have a crush on me and I’m sure I pretty much ruined it for him now that he realizes I am a brazen hussy.

    rockandcookies,
I totally have to hit Savers!

    meggypoo,
D.I. is seriously my favorite place to go. And I’m at the one by your house at least once (or twice) a week – we should hang out.

  • meggypoo

Oh I’m down with D.I. and some serious hanging out… just like my vagina.

  • lostinutah

I seriously used to have that stuffed siamese cat. Priceless.

  • Crystal

    a boy? saving his flower??

    boys save their flowers??

  • stefanie

There’s a Mormon version of Goodwill?? Man, the things I do not know…

I’ve been seeing these “Things I’m digging lately” lists cropping up all over lately. The Internet is in a chipper, glass-half-full sort of mood! Actually, I was going to make that my Friday Five last week, but alas, I did not get to it. Maybe I’ll do it this week, so I can make the topic-borrowing go the other way this time. :-)
